ViaDisc® is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment designed to address chronic disc-related low back pain caused by degenerative disc disease. The procedure uses an injectable allograft containing specialized disc tissue to supplement the damaged intervertebral disc and support its natural function.
Procedure
Using fluoroscopic (live X-ray) guidance, your physician carefully inserts a small needle into the affected spinal disc. The ViaDisc® allograft is then precisely delivered into the disc to supplement the disc’s internal structure. The procedure is typically completed in less than an hour and is performed on an outpatient basis.
After Care
Most patients return home the same day. Mild discomfort at the injection site is normal for several days. Your physician may recommend limiting strenuous activity for a short period while the treated disc begins to recover. Improvement is typically gradual, with many patients noticing continued benefits over several weeks to months. Follow-up appointments allow your physician to monitor your progress and recovery.
