Dr. Brian Torgerson

Board Certified Pain Management and Anesthesiology physician

Dr. Brian Torgerson, M.D.

Brian Torgerson, MD, is a board-certified physician in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology who has dedicated his career to helping patients find lasting relief from chronic pain. Since beginning his pain management practice in Tulsa in 2011, Dr. Torgerson has remained committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care through a multimodal approach that helps patients improve their function, restore their quality of life, and return to the activities they enjoy most. In 2019, Dr. Torgerson and Dr. Adam Wallace founded The Spine and Pain Center with a shared vision of delivering exceptional, compassionate pain management while expanding access to advanced treatment options throughout Oklahoma. 

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Torgerson graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma before earning his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Anesthesiology through the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and Baptist Health System. Following residency, he was selected for one of the nation's most prestigious interventional pain fellowships at the International Pain Institute at Texas Tech University, where he trained under Dr. Gabor Racz, one of the world's most respected pioneers in interventional pain management. 

What Dr. Torgerson enjoys most about caring for patients is helping them reclaim the lives they thought chronic pain had taken away. Whether it's returning to work, spending meaningful time with family, participating in hobbies, or simply enjoying everyday activities with greater comfort, he finds tremendous fulfillment in seeing patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Torgerson enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, traveling, staying active, and coaching his daughters' basketball teams.

Dr. Adam Wallace

Board Certified Pain Management and Anesthesiology physician

Dr. Adam Wallace, M.D. 

Adam Wallace, MD, is dedicated to helping patients overcome chronic pain and return to the activities they enjoy most. Since beginning private practice in Oklahoma in 2013, Dr. Wallace has focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered pain management with the goal of improving function, restoring quality of life, and helping patients regain their independence.  

Dr. Wallace earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University before receiving his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed both his residency in Anesthesiology and his fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Education in Jacksonville, Florida, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex pain conditions. He has received board certification both in Anesthesiology and Pain Management through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is also an active member of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists. 

In 2018, Dr. Wallace and Dr. Brian Torgerson founded The Spine and Pain Center with a shared vision of providing exceptional, compassionate pain management while improving access to advanced treatments for patients across Oklahoma. 

What Dr. Wallace enjoys most about caring for patients is seeing the transformation that occurs when their pain is reduced, and they are able to return to the lives they love. Whether it's spending time with family, enjoying hobbies, or simply completing everyday activities with greater comfort, he finds tremendous fulfillment in helping patients achieve meaningful improvements in their quality of life. Hearing patients share their success stories and celebrate milestones in their recovery remains one of the most rewarding aspects of his practice. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Wallace enjoys golfing, hiking, mountain biking, traveling with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren. His passion for staying active reflects the same goal he has for his patients—to help them remain active, engaged, and able to enjoy life to the fullest.

Kendra Hurst

Kendra Hurst, PA-C

Kendra Hurst, PA-C, has been providing compassionate, patient-centered care since 2005. With more than two decades of clinical experience, she is dedicated to helping patients manage chronic pain, improve their function, and enhance their overall quality of life. Kendra believes that building strong relationships with her patients is the foundation of exceptional care and enjoys partnering with them to achieve their individual goals. 

Kendra earned her Master of Health Science from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Physician Associate Program, graduating in 2004. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Oral Roberts University, where she graduated in 2002. Her education and years of clinical experience have equipped her to provide thoughtful, personalized care to every patient she serves. 

What Kendra enjoys most about caring for patients is developing lasting relationships and encouraging them throughout their journey toward improved pain control and a better quality of life. She finds great fulfillment in working alongside patients as they regain function and return to the activities that matter most to them. 

Outside of the office, Kendra enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, taking walks, and listening to audiobooks. She values staying active and appreciates the balance that time in nature and meaningful relationships bring to her life. 

Luke Schumacher

Luke Schumacher, PA-C

Luke Schumacher, PA-C, is committed to helping patients regain function, improve their quality of life, and return to the activities they enjoy most. With more than 11 years of clinical experience, Luke brings a patient-focused approach to pain management and works closely with individuals to develop treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals. 

Luke earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from William Jewell College in 2001 before completing his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Missouri State University in 2015. His healthcare experience and dedication to patient care have helped him build strong relationships with patients while guiding them through their treatment journey. 

What Luke enjoys most about practicing medicine is seeing patients make meaningful improvements in their daily lives. Whether it's helping someone become more active, return to work, or simply enjoy time with family and friends with less pain, he finds great fulfillment in helping patients achieve better function and overall well-being. 

Outside of the clinic, Luke enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. His interests include swimming, running, hunting, and fishing. He also values time with his wife and children and enjoys caring for the animals on his small family farm.

Susan Mitchell

Susan Mitchell, APRN, CNP

Susan Mitchell, APRN, CNP, brings decades of healthcare experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care to The Spine and Pain Center. She began her nursing career in 1983 and has spent more than 40 years serving patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Since becoming an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in 2016, Susan has focused on helping patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life.  

Susan's educational background includes training at Bryn Mawr Nursing School and Thomas Jefferson University, followed by earning her APRN degree in Primary Care from Maryville University. Her extensive clinical experience, combined with her compassionate approach, allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families while providing personalized care.  

What Susan enjoys most about her role is getting to know her patients beyond their medical conditions. She is passionate about helping individuals maintain their independence, stay active, and continue doing the things they love despite the challenges of chronic pain.  

Outside of work, Susan enjoys watching sports, a passion that stems from her own athletic background. She also loves reading, attending concerts, spending time at the beach, going for walks, and making memories with family and friends.  

Marco Criscione

Marco Criscione, MSN, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC

Marco Criscione, MSN, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, brings a diverse background of military service, nursing expertise, and advanced clinical training to The Spine and Pain Center. With years of experience caring for patients across a variety of healthcare settings, Marco is dedicated to helping individuals manage pain, improve function, and achieve a better quality of life. 

Marco earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Management from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, before pursuing a career in healthcare. He later earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma and completed his Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama. In addition to his healthcare career, Marco proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major. 

Marco began his nursing career as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse at Saint Francis Hospital in 2011 and transitioned into pain management in 2017. His experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions has shaped his collaborative and patient-centered approach to treatment. 

What Marco enjoys most about his work is building relationships with patients and partnering with them to address their pain management needs. He values open communication and believes the best outcomes are achieved when patients and providers work together toward shared goals. Helping patients improve their daily lives and regain function is one of the most rewarding aspects of his practice. 

Outside of work, Marco enjoys learning about history and science, spending time with family, and traveling whenever possible. His curiosity, lifelong love of learning, and dedication to service continue to influence both his personal and professional life.

Aikaterini (Katerina) Fausnaught

Katerina Fausnaught, APRN-CNP, FNP-C

Aikaterini (Katerina) Fausnaught, APRN-CNP, FNP-C, is dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life through compassionate, individualized care. With nearly a decade of healthcare experience, Katerina brings a strong clinical foundation and a patient-centered approach to pain management. 

Katerina began her nursing career after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2015 and later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019. In 2023, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training, becoming board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she spent nearly ten years as a registered nurse in acute care settings, including medical-surgical and intensive care units, caring for patients with a wide range of complex medical conditions. 

Since entering pain management in 2025, Katerina has focused on partnering with patients to better understand their conditions, treatment options, and goals. She believes education is a critical component of effective healthcare and strives to empower patients to take an active role in their treatment journey. By working collaboratively with each individual, she develops personalized care plans designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help patients return to the activities they enjoy most. 

Outside of the clinic, Katerina enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and painting. She has a passion for exploring new places, cultures, and experiences and is committed to lifelong learning, both personally and professionally.
